Paid Training

Medication Aide (40 Hour Certified)/CNA Full-time Day & Night ShiftOmaha

Position: Certified Medication Aide (40 Hour Certified)

Unit: LTC ACUTE HOSPITAL PULMONARY UNIT

Job Type: Full-Time

Shift: Day & Night Shift Available (6:30AM-7:00PM or 6:30PM-7:00AM)

Compensation: $17.50-$25.00 per hour $1000 hiring bonus

Work Location: In person at 1540 N 72nd Street Omaha, NE 68114

Duties:

  • Assist in the administering of medications as ordered by the attending physician, under the direction of the attending physician, the nurse supervisor or charge nurse, and the Director of Clinical Services. 
  • The administration of medications shall be in accordance with established nursing standards, the policies, procedures, and practices of this facility, and the requirements of this state.
  • Maintain and accurately document medications as ordered by the attending physician, following facility policies and procedures
  • Observe and verify that medication is ingested or applied as directed. Document any instance where prescribed medication is not administered, including reason(s) for refusal.
  • Ensure that no medication is administered without a written, signed, dated order
  • Verify the identity of the resident before administering the medication treatment.
  • Provide application of aseptic dressings per facility policies and procedures, with the exception of treatment to a decubitus or stasis ulcer of any stage. Examples of acceptable dressing changes include application to Skin Tears and Minor Wounds/scrapes/irritations.
  • Maintenance and monitoring of oxygenation delivery systems. Fill portable oxygen tanks for resident use, when needed. Change oxygen flow from concentrator to portable and back again as needed. Adjust oxygen flow per physician’s order.

Requirements:

  • Must be a 40 hour Certified Medication Aide, having successfully completed a state approved training program and any necessary examination.

Position: Respiratory Therapist

Duties:

  • Must be able to work with adult patients with varying degrees of conditions.

  • RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist) by the NBRC.
  • Licensure in the State of Nebraska to practice respiratory care.
  • Diploma in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited community college or university
  • BLS Certification (Preferred)

  • Delivering care to pulmonary patients utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation and evaluation. 
  • This position will effectively interact with patients, family members and other health team members while maintaining all standards of professional nursing.

  • RN (Required)
